Meet Miles

Miles’ campaign for Mayor of Carmel is rooted in his ‘roll-up-my sleeves and contribute’ attitude. He comes from a family where service was encouraged and standing for one’s principles was demanded.

A lifelong Hoosier, Miles first moved to Carmel with his wife, Carolina, eighteen years ago. He is an entrepreneur with decades of experience in business ownership, business development, executive leadership and nonprofit board service.

As a former Division I athlete playing tennis at American University, Miles understands the value of hard work, bringing people together, and persisting through challenge.

His passion for giving back to his community was instilled at an early age by a family with a long history of service in the Indianapolis community. He has recently served as a volunteer leader with the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, Child Advocates and the Hispanic Business Council.

Miles’ love for Carmel and the people who call it home led him to run and win a seat on the Carmel City Council in 2019. During his time on the council, Miles has worked hard for his constituents, prioritizing their needs and concerns. He knows how important it is to put differences aside and put people first.

Miles’ public service has inspired a new generation to get involved. With his children, Olivia and Noah, he created the nonprofit Carmel Cleanup Crew and established the 10,000 Trees in Carmel campaign with the goal of planting that many trees in the city in 10 years. To date, more than 4,000 trees have been given away for planting and another 1,000 will be this year!

As our next Mayor, Miles will work hard to make sure our community continues to be the best place for everyone to live, raise a family, build a career and support their neighbors. He’ll build on the achievements of Mayor Brainard and keep moving Carmel forward.
